![]() The bus driver did not give any commentary during our trip. The company rep who checked us onto the bus provided a brief history about whisky making in Tennessee, after which he left the bus and we started on the 1.5 journey to JD. The pick-up location was at the Omni hotel at 9 am. These must be purchased directly from the Jack Daniel's website or at the distillery. It does not include tickets to the tours at the distillery. Please note that this tour is only bus transportation from Nashville to the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg. We stand behind the tour delivered 100% and would like you to remove your review as it is not a factual or accurate review of the experience delivered. Had I been on a tour and given the opportunity to experience the craft of whiskey production in such an intimate and personal way, I’d feel grateful. They might not have availability on certain dates due to lack of staffing, private events, or other reasons.Īdditionally, you we’re given a 10% discount on your tour. Also, some distilleries only have one or two employees which means they cannot be accommodating to groups 100% of the time. In fact, we feel the more intimate and upclose places make for a much better experience. Due diligence by looking at our website would have told you that. Tennessee Whiskey Tours is about delivering an experience in a professional and respectable manner.Īs you witnessed, some of these distilleries are small and some are 45 minutes away. Perhaps there was a communication breakdown between the two of you on expectations? Were you expecting a party with over-pouring at each venue? If so, you were mistaken. You had every opportunity to influence the destinations, but you took yourself out of that conversation by handing off all communications and booking to your friend. We made the decision to visit three very distinct distilleries that we’ve found people immensely enjoy. In fact, all three distilleries you visited make a whiskey.ĭuring one of our conversations verbatim I said: "There will be a few more distilleries operating by that time, so we might check some of them out.” You had no rebuttal nor a response. I recall your tour visiting H Clark Distillery and Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery (at least 3 aged whiskies), both of which have aged whiskey products. Also, you were presented with the option to visit Jack Daniel’s, the largest aged-whiskey maker in the world, via our communications in the beginning. I’m sure this was disseminated multiple times throughout your tour by the guides, distillers, and others. First, you were never promised three “aged whiskies.” In fact, aside from George Dickel and Jack Daniel, aged whiskey in Tennessee is an extremely new industry. I would like to point out a few facts regarding your tour and your review. The idea is there behind the bus tour, but the bus itself left a lot to be desired.Īs the owner I hate to hear that you did not have a good time. We assumed he would be along for the tour ride, giving history and information along the entire drive and also on site for any questions. Then he jumps off the bus and you never see him again. ![]() We had a bus full of bachelor and bachelorettes and everyone was looking for some music to liven the 1.5 hour drive each way up a little bit! Another thing that we found odd was that a guy gets on the bus while it sits outside the Omni and gives some instructions on what to do when you get to JD. The radio in our bus also did not work, so that was a little bit disappointing. The tour does provide water, but it's BYOB for anything else. ![]() The tour company should maintain their buses, especially in the summer time as we had one girl in our group nearly faint from heat exhaustion. ![]() The air conditioning on our particular bus was broken and made for a very, very uncomfortable ride. To put it in perspective, we were in Nashville mid-July and it was HOT. The bus ride on the way to and from the distillery however left a little to be desired. The tour of Jack Daniels itself was super cool, filled with history and a fun learning experience. 8 of us took the Jack and Back Tour which took us to Lynchburg and back to Nashville. ![]()
